Wu-Tang cover versions from NY funk outfit El Michel's Affair

Pretty stupid to call your series Shaolin, yet have a picture of the Japanese wandering samurai Ogami Itto & son Daigoro (Lone Wolf & Cub) as your image. Apart from that gaff, it's a great idea.

"In late 2005, at a packed house in Downtown NYC Truth & Soul’s El Michels Affair forged an unusual working relationship with incomparable Raekwon from the Wu-Tang Clan. Together they re-work Wu-Tang classics, bridging the musical gap between sampled hip-hop and live instrumental soul. In the wake of this event the decision for El Michels Affair to get in the studio and cut instrumental versions if Wu-Tang songs was an obvious one."

Part 1 of Truth & Soul's shaolin series….

• MP3: El Michels Affair - C.R.E.A.M. 320kbps Wu-Tang cover
• MP3: El Michels Affair - Glaciers of Ice. 160kbps (VBR) Raekwon cover.

Actually, the title isn't all that stupid. Yes it is the Lone Wolf & Cub, but are you aware that the little boy talking at the beginning of GZA's solo LP (and also used various other times from RZA) is from the American release of Lone Wolf & Cub, entitled 'Shogun Assassin'. Hence the picture of the two and the title are related as far as Wu-Tang fans are concerned.

Chinese title with Japanese imagery..? Yeah, all Asians look the same...
Why did they not call the label Shogun, Ronin, etc.. then?

I'm well aware of who is on 'Liquid Swords'...
If its merely for Wu fans then they should've been more sensible & used a pic of someone like Chia Hui Liu instead.

It's like if I called my label Bond & had a picture of Jason Bourne on the label.

I thought this record was cool. I don't know if I'd play it but it's cool.

Titles aside........
some things don't need to be remade/reworked/remix and C.R.E.A.M is something that shouldn't be fucked with
